Soil modification, commonly known as “mud-drying”, is a process used to dry down wet sub-grades to provide a working platform for access and construction equipment.
To create this chemically modified substrate, the application of cement powder, fly ash or lime is mixed into the wet soil with a reclaimer. The thoroughly mixed, modified soil is then compacted with a vibratory padsfoot compactor. Construction can resume within hours after chemical treatment.
